The Fish

This gorgeous 23" AuSable River
Brown ate a streamer late in the
afternoon on May 10th.
The Hendrickson mayfly hatch in early
May is awesome on the AuSable River.
This chunky 22" Brown fell to a Hennie Spinner right at dusk on May 10th.
Another early May "Hawg" taken on
a dry fly during the Hendrickson
hatch on the AuSable River.
Dry fly fishing doesn't get any
better than fishing to rising
Browns in the 20+" class!
The Brown Drake hatch in mid to
late June provides incredible
surface action at dusk. This 25"
Brown taken by Gary Gritter
while fishing with Ultimate Outfitters
is truly a world-class dry fly trophy!
Dry fly action is not just limited to late evening/nighttime. This 24 1/2"
Brown took a Brown Drake pattern
at 7:00 in the evening.
Joe Metes with the results of an incredible day of streamer fishing.
The Brown on the left is 22", while the one on the right is 26".
Again, BIG trout in the middle of the day!
Now there's a MONSTER river trout.
Taken on a streamer, during the middle
of the day, in the first week of May.
Fat Rainbows are not uncommon in many
of the rivers we fish. These are incredible fighters when taken on the surface. This fish took a Hendrickson spinner pattern
during an early May spinner fall.
Have you ever seen daytime spinner falls of Hexagenia?
It's not all that uncommon. In fact, we encounter it every year on some of the water
we fish. The fish love it, and it's a lot easier than trying to fish them in the pitch dark.
